FCS Extended Day
WELCOME!
FCS offers an extended-day program for FCS students before and after the school day for an hourly fee of $7.25. Families use extended day on an as-needed basis; no sign-up is required. Students who are not picked up 15 minutes after their afternoon dismissal time are automatically sent to extended-day. The school invoices parents on a monthly basis for the hours used.
The extended-day program is a supervised but fairly unstructured time when students can run around outside, play games, do arts and crafts, and generally be kids. The program offers a homework club which meets in the library where kids have access to tables, relaxed seating, laptops (for grades 3 and above) and other research materials. The extended day program is run in conjunction with FCS' other after-school activities, "extending" the day when those activities are over.
The school also offers all-day programs (8:00 am - 6: 00 pm) during holiday and vacation periods, the details of which are announced during the school year in the school Bulletin.
Before-School Ex-Day
Morning Ex-Day begins at 7:40 am and ends at 8:20 am. As a courtesy to parents, the school does not charge for children who are dropped off between 8:10 and 8:20 am.
After-School Ex-Day
Afternoon Ex-Day begins at 2:45 pm (2 pm on Wednesdays) and ends at 6 pm. Students who are not picked up 15 minutes after their dismissal time are automatically sent to Afternoon Ex-Day. However, K thru 4 students who are younger siblings of 5 thru 8 students may attend the after-school program from 2:45 to 3:15pm free of charge if they depart with the older sibling at the older student's 3:15pm dismissal. Staff is not scheduled beyond 6 pm; late pick-up charges will be assessed for any student picked up after that time.
PLEASE NOTE:
When the School has a delayed opening, due to inclement weather or other emergency, or must close early, there is no extended-day program available.
