Friends Community School (FCS) teaches young people in grades K-8 to be life-long learners, to find that of God within themselves and others, and to strive to reach their fullest potentials as individuals and contributing members of society. A Quaker school, we welcome students of all beliefs, offer developmentally appropriate, experiential and vigorous curricula, and actively express environmental stewardship as a core value. FCS moved into our permanent "green" home in September 2007. The facility and grounds are adjacent to National Park Service land in Greenbelt. It is a fabulous facility in a spectacular natural setting that has permitted us to expand our academic, extra-curricular and summer programs. And it is the largest known straw bale insulated building in the world! Welcome to FCS!
