The Advancement Department's mission is to enhance the educational experience at FCS through active engagement, strategic fundraising, and effective communication. We are dedicated to building meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, friends, and community partners to support the school's goals and vision.
Friends Community School: What's In A Name?
As a Quaker school, we believe that intellectual education and moral education are integrally connected. Our core Quaker values — simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship — are embedded in our curriculum and our interactions with each other.
As a community, we are diverse and inclusive. We support one another in our day-to-day activities and in our larger endeavors as lifelong learners, courageous risk takers, and joyous peacemakers.
As a progressive school, FCS focuses on educating the whole child: socially, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and creatively. We recognize that children learn best from experience and meaningful relationships with peers and teachers. Our teachers meet students where they are and — through experiential and inquiry-based lessons, a child-centered curriculum, collaborative projects, and intentional reflection — promote deep learning.
Ileana Trozzo Deleonibus joined Friends Community School in 2023 as Yonnette’s assistant before transitioning to Advancement Associate in 2024, where she now leads fundraising and community engagement efforts to strengthen philanthropic support for FCS. With a background in donor relations, event coordination, and operational efficiency, she has driven initiatives that have increased fundraising revenue, streamlined advancement processes, and launched FCS’s first major gifts program.
Previously, Ileana served as Chief Operating Officer of a swimwear brand, where she led business growth through strategic planning and creative marketing. Her leadership of the past two Fall Fairs showcased her ability to unite the community and deliver successful fundraising events. Passionate about fostering a culture of philanthropy, Ileana works to ensure every FCS community member feels engaged and empowered to make a difference.
