"FCS's recognizing and embracing that everyone learns differently was important to me and made me a more confident student."
The kids at FCS were the most important to me--in my class and the kids who graduated in the class ahead of mine. FCS looks more diverse to me now, and there are lockers and a stage. I also think that FCS's recognizing that everyone learns differently and embracing that was important to me and made me a more confident student.
The thing I'm most excited about now is college!
Teacher Melanie Cobb most influenced me; she is comfortable with herself, smart, confident, and a good role model.
I'm concerned about the next four years, how racist people can be and how comfortable they are being that way.
My mom has been a big influence on me; she pushes me to do everything and to stay focused.
When I'm not in school, I'm still at school because I'm in a play or a musical, or in the music room practicing my piano.
I would tell me 12-year-old self that black is beautiful! And try to be yourself rather than trying to be like others around you.
